All House Of Tibet products are traded fairly
House Of Tibet is a family run business established in 1991 with a strong ethical policy at its core. We are not perfect but we believe our policies are consistent and transparent. We aim to buy from small scale producers who uses largely natural materials and traditional techniques to produce beautiful and interesting articles. All House Of Tibet products are fairly traded. We believe that the best way to reduce poverty is through trade.
House of Tibet manufactures 40% of its total imports at our local factory in Kathmandu. We employ local community member as our labour force where no child labour are used and they are paid at national level wages or above. We also strongly encourage our suppliers and partners to follow same sort of practice for the long term benefit of parties involved.
House Of Tibet seeks to support marginalised small producers and we aim to help workers to move from income insecurity to economic self sufficiency. The manufacture of goods for House Of Tibet generates income for the local community and we hope that these benefits should enrich the quality of life of the local community.
House Of Tibet seeks to minimise our impact on the environment. We also encourage suppliers to source raw materials locally and to use recycled packaging on their products.
